As was discussed during our March meeting, we have a correction to our rules & regs book as follows:

1.3 PASSENGERS - Passengers are permitted during practice. Passengers are not permitted to ride during actual competition runs. Passengers/instructors are permitted only if the following requirements are met:

A - The vehicle must be properly equipped to carry a passenger.
B - The vehicle must have passed technical inspection.
C - The passenger/instructor must wear a seat belt and helmet.
D - The passenger/instructor must not be another competitor, before their own competition runs are completed.

February meeting minutes:

During this meeting, we decided that we will have to raise our event entry fees as follows:

Friday: (now open to everyone, not just SSCC members) $10; Saturday: $25/$30 for non-club members; Sunday: $20/$30 for non-club members.

Keep in mind that starting this year, we honor any current auto-cross club membership for the member rate.

A note about the entry forms:

If you are having problems emailing any of the completed PDF entry forms, you must have a default email program setup in your web browser. If you don’t, you can save the form to your hard-drive by right-clicking on the link and choosing “Save target as…” and save the file to your hard-drive. You can then double-click on the file, fill in the information, save the file and attach in to an email addressed to sccweb@gmail.com.

New for 2010: if you have a current membership to an auto-cross club, you will get the member price on the entry fee to any of our events. All you need to do provide proof of current membership when you register.

The 2010 Spring Enduro entry form is now available for download and can be found on the Event Schedule page. You'll notice that the entry fee has gone up this year. This is because our rent for the track has significantly increased and right now we have no choice but to raise the entry fee.

We now have a forum for our club. It is a sub-forum on a local motorsports forum; you will have to join the forum to post. This is a great area where we can discuss issues, suggestions, etc pertaining to our club and events. Feel free to join the forum and participate. From time to time, we will post issues that warrant further discussion, so feel free to visit frequently and let your voice be heard.

Visit the forum here.

Below is an email recieved from Steve Lambert, Parks Program Manager.

There will be having a public meeting for the Sports Park Master Plan from 6:00-7:30 PM on February 9th, at the Jackson County Expo Center (Mace building).  In an effort to obtain a high level of public input and involvement, I am asking for your help in publicizing the event.  If you know of any interested parties that would like to participate in planning for the park's future, please inform them of the meeting and encourage them to attend.  If they cannot attend the meeting, the design options will be posted on our Jackson County Parks website starting February 9th.  Interested parties can provide comments via this website as well.

Below is an email recieved from Steve Lambert, Parks Program Manager.

At our first advisory meeting for the Sports Park Master Plan, we had received a few requests for the ability to view our panels on-line and respond to MIG with comments.  If you visit our Jackson County Parks website at www.jacksoncountyparks.com , you will see that this feature is available.  Please feel free to make comments regarding the plan and send them to me or the email address listed on the website.  We encourage participation in the process.  Feel free to spread the word and get other members of the public involved in the project.

Roll Bar clarification (final):

Roll bars shall meet current SCCA Solo II rules except as follows: on open cockpit car and convertible cars with a functioning top including hardtop convertibles; a minimum of 1 main hoop is required and must be attached to either the floor board behind the front seat(s) or attached to the top of the “B” pillar and be made from one contiguous tube. There must also be 2, one per side, “support” bars attached to the main hoop at or above the point half way between the floor board and the top of the main hoop as measured from the bottom top most part of the main hoop. SSCC requirements for tubing material and inspection hole coincides with current SCCA material weight requirements, and inspection hole location. SSCC decision is final with regards to the legality of an individual’s roll bar. Roll bars such as “pop-up” and “vanity” bars are not legal.

Self Tech:

“Self Tech” will be available for qualifying participates starting this year. The way this is going to work is that if you have been coming to our track for a while, you’ll have your car teched by our tech inspectors the first time you come to our track during a new season and after that you’ll get your tech sheet at registration and will be responsible for teching your own car. You’ll sign off on the tech form just like tech inspectors do to show that you verified your car is safe and race ready. You’ll be given a “self tech” sticker to put in a visible place easily seen by the starter and gird workers. Of course we do reserve the right to inspect your car at any time or revoke the “self tech” privilege. Self tech applies only to the car and driver combination that was given the self tech privilege. If a driver plans to drive a car that has not yet been teched the current year by our tech inspectors, the car must pass tech as any other new car. Likewise if a self teched car has been sold or loaned to a driver that did not qualify for self tech, the car must be teched by our tech inspectors.
